Saabfest at Burrs Country Park is nearly upon us. Situated at Burrs Country Park near Bury, BL8 1DA, 26-27th July, the main show days are Saturday & Sunday. Saturday will be a show day with activities taking place and Sunday is the ‘Show & Shine’ / ‘Best Car’ competition.
Camping is available from Friday with a quiz at the event marquee located at the Brown Cow Inn, Saturday the Marquee will be rocked by the excellent ‘Six Months in Mexico’. Fridays catering will be a Lancashire hotpot, Saturday will be a substantial hot and cold buffet, these meals will need booking in advance at saabclubmembership.co.uk. It’s all shaping up to be a fantastic event with many bookings already in. Tickets can be still be purchased online until 19th July at saabclubmembership.co.uk. but don’t worry you will still be able to pay entry at the gate for day passes and camping. Ticket prices are only £12 per day pass and £24 per pitch for overnight camping, prices are based on per car or per family, Saab Owners Club members receive 20% discount from these prices (Membership card must be produced). 14 Ebor Saab members set off on Friday 10 May to make their separate ways to the assembly point at Gretna Green for what was billed as a Scottish Mystery Weekend, the mystery being only the organisers knew the itinerary. The mystery began to unfold on Saturday morning with a drive along gloriously empty roads under blue skies up into rural Scotland to visit the Kagyu Samye Ling Tibetan Temple at Eskdalemuir (nobody expected a visit the foothills of the Himalayas).
