It is with great regret that the Saab Owners Club of Great Britain has to inform members of the sad news that our Honorary President, Mr Erik Carlsson died peacefully in hospital earlier today. (Wednesday 27 May) Erik’s health deteriorated after a recent fall at home, an operation to relieve pressure on his spine and a bout of pneumonia. He was well cared for by hospital staff and attended by his immediate family, daughter Susie and her husband Bill. Members and Saab enthusiasts are asked to respect the family’s grief and need for privacy at this sorrowful time. More information will be circulated at an appropriate time. It is expected that the Saab Festival in Trollhattan 5-7 June will be dedicated to ‘Mister Saab’. Erik celebrated his 86th birthday earlier this year.
